Hi my beauties!
I hope you guys are having a happy start of the week and
wish you all have a great and happy week ahead.
Today’s blog is on my most favorite top six drugstore
foundations for you guys. I wanted to make it a top five but there's one
foundation that I just couldn't miss, so here's a top six. Now drugstore has a
lot of price ranges out there. Some are super affordable foundation and then
there are some mid-range foundations as well.
You will find a mix of both and not just that while picking
up these foundations I did bear in mind different skin types. So, whether you
are oily, combination or dry skin I am very hopeful that you will be able to
find a foundation which will work very well on your skin type.
We are going to be talking about the consistencies, the
longevity, how the foundation sits on the skin so on and so forth.
Now if you're new here make sure you're subscribed to my blog
by submitting your email because that's how you're going to know every time I post
a new blog. Do also follow me on my Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn account links
are already mentioned on my page and now without further ado let's dive right
into this blog.
1. Maybelline Fit Me Foundation
The first foundation that I am going to talk about is super
popular at the drugstore and it's quite likely that a lot of you already own
this foundation and rightly so. What I am talking about is the Maybelline Fit Me Matte
and Polish foundation and you have 18 shades option in this one.
The reason why this foundation is because I feel it is super-duper
popular, it is very affordable for the quantity you get and you also get a mini
size a smaller version in this foundation which also is something that I have.
I really like the consistency firstly the shade that I use is
a warm nude 128. This is a perfect match for me. There are 18 different shades
as I already told you in the beginning and the shade chart have the variety of shades
that are also pretty decent for Indian skin. It's likely that you will find a shade
for yourself.
In my opinion it surely isn't matte, on my skin it sits like
a demi matte finish and has a very soft do to itself. If you do apply some sort
of a strobe cream or a facial oil this gives a beautiful luminous kind of a
finish and lasts for a fairly long time. The consistency of the foundation is medium
it's neither too runny nor too thick.
I personally like to blend out my foundations with a beauty sponge
and I’ve always stuck to that. The beauty sponge that I really like is the one
that has a flat bend like a flat side on one side and pointed on the other. So,
pointed is for areas around your nose and underneath your eyes to blend out
your concealer and then the other side is very good to pat out your foundations.
These two together work really well for me.
This is a foundation which is definitely medium coverage,
it's buildable but still it is medium coverage. I personally on a daily basis
do not like foundations that are very heavy or full coverage because I
personally like foundations in which my skin can show through and this looks
super-duper natural. It has no flashback, looks great in photographs and camera.
Overall a foundation that works for all skin types and something that I
personally love and highly recommend.
Now when you will blend it on your skin you will see its luminosity
and blends out like a dream. Even if you are someone who's a beginner to makeup
this is the kind of foundation I highly recommend because if you are someone
who does not have a sponge or any sort of an applicator or a tool to blend out
your foundation this blends out with your fingers also very easily.
2. Maybelline Super Stay Foundation
The second drugstore foundation also quite popular is the Maybelline
Super Stay Foundation. I am in the shade 220 natural beige. This
has nine shades in it, firstly this bottle comes with a pump and
so does the Maybelline Fit Me. Now thankfully I have to repurchase
the fit me because I’ve used so many bottles of that. Coming back
to this foundation it's a solid full coverage guys if you're
looking for a good affordable full coverage foundation this
definitely makes the cut.
This has great consistency neither too thick nor too thin
it's in between and blends out really well as well. As I said I personally like
to blend out all my foundations with a beauty sponge. This one in particular I
have tried with a stippling brush, works fairly well, sits on the skin very well
as well and lasts for a fairly long time without cracking and has no flashback.
The greatest part of the story is even besides being full
coverage and it's buildable as well it does not sit in the lines in your smile
lines or around the nose area right here. Overall, it gives a flawless finish,
looks great if you are someone who likes to click pictures or on camera in
general because like I said has no flashback.
The only con about this foundation at least on me is that it
oxidizes a little bit. I think if you are someone who's looking for a good full
coverage foundation, I highly recommend this but make sure that you're going
for a little bit lighter color. In fact, I feel whatever your color may be in
the Fit Me range the similar color is something that you can definitely pick up
in this one as well.
Maybelline Super stay has a very beautiful satin finish,
it's not super matte at least on my skin. If you're someone with oily skin type
then this is a full coverage foundation you definitely should try, if you are
someone who's dry skin type make sure you hydrate your skin really well and
that goes for any full coverage foundation that you're using just make sure
that your skin is well hydrated.
Use some sort of a strobe cream or at least some sort of a
facial oil so that the foundation doesn't cake and sits really well and for a
longer time on your skin.
3. Nykaa Skin Shield Anti-Pollution Foundation
Moving on to the third drugstore foundation what I have here
for you is the Nykaa Skin Shield Anti-Pollution foundation. There are 15 shades
in this range. When I bought this foundation, I have to be honest I did not
have very high hopes. I just read the reviews and bought it but the foundation
did surprise me pleasantly.
Firstly, it's medium to buildable coverage which is what I
like. This is also the kind of foundation if you are someone like me who likes
a little bit of light coverage and likes your skins to show through. This is
the kind of foundation you are likely to love because this has a very soft
satin on my skin, a sort of a luminosity it gives to my skin, a kind of a
finish I personally really like. The formulation sits for a fairly long time.
There are two cons for me in this particular foundation
number one is that it oxidizes a little bit. This particular shade warm nude is
a tad bit dark for me however it doesn't turn gray so it's fine. It's something
usable and like I said because I like the consistency which is medium, not too thick
and I like the way it sits on the skin.
I do like to use this foundation quite a lot the other con is
that although the foundation range has 15 different shades, the color chart is
a little bit different and I feel it's a little bit hard to put your finger on
the color that will go on your skin tone. So, if you are lucky enough to find
your color in this range, I would highly recommend this foundation simply
because of the consistency of the formula that you have here blends in
beautifully.
Again, I use a beauty sponge to blend this out has a satin
finish doesn't crack, doesn't cake on the skin, doesn't sit into your lines,
settle into your lines and overall gives a very beautiful finish. Photographs
fairly well as well has no flashback overall.
The Nykaa foundation is also something that will work for most skin types and since this is not super-duper matte has a fairly beautiful dewy sort of a finish. Even if you are dry skin, you are likely to appreciate this foundation quite a lot.
4. Milani Conceal and Perfect 2-in-o1 Foundation
Moving on to our fourth foundation and this is a full
coverage foundation from the drugstore in my opinion. This is the best solid
coverage foundation that you have in the drugstore, a little bit mid-range but
worth every single penny and is also one of my personal favorites. What I am
talking about is the Milani Conceal and Perfect two-in-one foundation.
There are seven shades and the reason why I say this that
it's worth every single penny is firstly this is the foundation that it
photographs beautifully, looks great on the camera, it is a solid full coverage.
Many a times I would not even use my concealer with this foundation. I would
just go ahead and conceal with this so the name suggests it's a concealer and a
foundation rightly so.
The other thing is I love how it sits on my skin, it has a
little bit of a satin dewy finish and that's what I like about foundations. Even
though it is a full coverage foundation it still is lightweight and your skin
can breathe. However, this is going to
cover every damn thing, if you have a scar or you have any sort of
hyperpigmentation this is the kind of foundation you can definitely go in for.
If you are a bride to be or you're looking for an occasional
foundation for the festive season something that's a little bit more than the
light coverage then this is something you can definitely go in for. Also, it doesn't
sit in between the lines. The smile lines that i was referring to in the other
foundations as well no flashback whatsoever.
In fact, I feel this is one of those foundations that
photographs beautifully in my opinion and really has no con except a little bit
of a strong chemically kind of a fragrance that this has but the moment you
apply it on the face that also fades away. That's the only con I could pick up.
It comes with a pump so it's pretty easy to pump out the
product and also it goes a little bit long way guys. Out of all the foundations
that I’ve showed you this is the one that I use the least, so a little bit can
be spread out. It beautifully works well with my beauty sponge and tried this
for a more solid coverage of with a brush as well as stippling brush definitely
that gives you a little more coverage. But I personally like I said prefer my
beauty sponge with this one as well.
Again, a foundation that will work on all skin types if your dry skin make sure you hydrate your skin underneath. This I feel is especially meant for anyone who has problematic skin, you have acne scars, you have hyperpigmentation or if you have any sort of scarring this is definitely the kind of product you can invest in.
5. L.A Girl Pro Coverage Illuminating Liquid Foundation
This is super-duper dewy if you are dry skin, you will love
this foundation. The only thing is if you're looking for high coverage then let
me tell you this is not high coverage but it's definitely medium to buildable coverage
for me. I personally like foundations in which my skin can show through and foundations
that look like second skin this is exactly that guys.
A beautiful foundation and it's worth every single penny in
my opinion. In winters this is the kind of foundation for my combination skin that
is a dream come true. I don't have to use any sort of facial oil, any sort of
stroke cream I can go in with this straight away, it's like a strobe cream mixed
in foundation for my combination skin.
For dry skin also honestly, I feel if you put some sort of a
very light moisturizer this is the kind of foundation that will definitely not dry
your skin and if your oily skin, I would say skip it because this is likely to
break on your skin or maybe not last as long. Even for my combination skin I do
have to set this foundation specifically on my t-zone only in summers, in
winters it works perfectly all right and is also fairly long lasting.
Now this foundation is a little bit runny in the consistency
and it blends out like a dream and you will see it is extremely beautiful in terms
of the texture. But like I said if your oily skin this may be a way bit too
much for your skin to handle.
It is something I personally really like and appreciate. One
another reason why I like the L.A. Girl Foundation is that it comes in a pump.
I personally really find it very hygienic to use. Foundations that come in a pump,
they are easy to dispense and you can control the amount that you want to take
in one go.
6. Wet n wild Photo Focus foundation
Moving on to the sixth foundation and also, the last
foundation for this blog. This is the foundation that I was a little bit
confused about whether or not to add to this list but I eventually did. Looking
at the price, the quantity and also the quality that you get here from the
drugstore what I am talking about is the Wet and wild Photo Focus foundation.
I am in the shade golden beige and there are seven shades in
this range. Firstly, the color is a pretty decent match for my skin it is
perfect for me in winters and a little bit light in summers. But I do bronze my
face really well whenever I use it or I mix some of the darker foundations and
then apply it on my face.
The consistency is a little bit thick therefore I highly
recommend using a beauty sponge versus a brush for applying this. Now this is a
solid full coverage guys but it is medium coverage as well so you can build it
up and build it down as well. Simply because of the consistency of this product
if you do one layer and you're good to go this is going to be a little bit more
than medium coverage but you can definitely build it up to be a super full
coverage foundation as well.
It is a super affordable foundation the reason why I say
that because it is mostly on discount everywhere. I actually picked this up on
discount. You get great quantity; the consistency of this foundation is way too
thick. So, if you don't like very thick foundations then this may not be the
foundation for you but overall does the job and spreads out fairly well with a
beauty sponge.
I personally would highly recommend if you are someone who
wants a high coverage go for Wet n Wild, if you are someone who likes medium coverage
or something in which your skin can show through then go for Maybelline Fit Me
and that's the reason why I put this in the list.
The other corn here other than the consistency which I find
too thick is the fragrance. Now the fragrance is way bit too chemically if you
know what I mean. It's like you're smelling something too chemically and it's a
little bit too strong. The moment you apply it on your face it just obviously
vanishes off it doesn't linger on the foundation.
Overall stays for a fairly long time as well doesn't crack,
doesn't settle in your lines and overall a pretty decent foundation to have
guys. Also, this has a little bit a very tiny bit of flashback when you're
taking pictures but if you find the right shade for yourself, I feel overall
this is the kind of full coverage foundation that can definitely work for you. Even
though this is a thick foundation it spreads out really well. The finish also is
not too matte, it's really nice beautiful and satin finish.
So, guys with that it's a wrap I really hope that you enjoyed
reading this blog and were able to pick up a foundation for yourself. Until then
I see you next in my new blog guys thank you so much for reading my blog love
you all and don’t forget to love yourself.
