In today's blog we are going to discuss about my most favorite top 10 toner as the title reads.

Now, theses are the toners which I have been using for some past couple of years, some of them are my holy grail. I have repurchased them many times. I have toner for each skin type and concern whether you are dry, combination, oily, sensitive, acne-prone you will find a suitable one for you.

So, before diving into the product let me tell the difference between toners and face mist. Toner basically are the first layer of hydration that you put after after you have cleansed your face. They also maintain the pH of your skin, cleanse and shrink your enlarged pores whereas on the other hand face mist are hydrating and nourishing in nature. They hydrate your skin during the day and face mist can be used on top of your makeup as well. Having said that, there are many toners in these days that come in a spray bottle or a mist bottle. 

In this blog I am only going to talk about toners. I am going to come up with another blog where I will describe in detail about face mist.

Let check the toners. Shall we...

 1. BIOTIQUE BIO CUCUMBER TONER:

If have oily, combination and even acne-prone skin this toner works really well. But if you have a sensitive skin type then just skip it because some of my friends with sensitive skin condition told me that this does not work for them, its too harsh for their skin. But for me as I am a combination dry skin type it work really well especially after I remove my makeup. I take it on a cotton pad and I wipe my face with it. It removes any left-over makeup as well. It really cleanses the pore very well.

This is for oily, combination skin type people but it are dry skin type and you want to try the Biotique toner than I highly recommend the honey version in this, that's very good for dry skin. I have used that one as well and I have ordered both for these toners.

In my opinion both are really very good and satisfying. This cucumber one for oil, combination and honey one for dry skin type beauties.

2. PLUM GREEN TEA TONER:

This toner in particular is very suitable for oily, combination and acne-prone skin. It cleanses your pores really well and also has glycolic acid in it but way down the list. Hence, it is a very mild exfoliating toner even acne-prone skin people can use this. In fact I would highly recommend it as it is for anyone who has acne-prone skin as well as very oily skin type.

Now, to apply this toner again you will take in a cotton pad and wipe off your face with it. In my opinion one of the very good toners out there.

3. KLAIRS SUPPLE PREPARATION TONER:

This toner is a boon for all my dry skin beauties because this in particular I have been using for the past six months now and just loving it, absolutely works very well for my dry skin as well. This toner specifically is very thick in nature. Its not very liquidly its not very thick but it definitely doubles up in a sense as well and also very hydrating on the skin.

There are two ways of using it. The number one method because it is thick toner you can take in between your palms press in between your palms and then just press it onto your face. Don't rub but press this one. The second method in which you can use after you have removed your makeup, you can take it on a cotton swab and then you just apply some of this and just wipe off your  face with it. It's going take off any left-over makeup layers as well. 

Ideally that's not the job of a toner however some of the toner have that quality and does the job of hydrating and cleansing your face pores really well. In my opinion one of the best toner if you are dry skin.

4. JUICY CHEMISTRY LAVENDER WATER:

A perfect toner suitable for oily sensitive or acne prone skin type. This is a 100% organic lavender water. I just really like this on the days when my skin is feel very sensitive. I use rose water quite a lot but this comes very handy as well. 

Lavender  in particular has cleansing and calming properties. It heals your skin, it is also anti-inflammatory. So, it you have rashes on you face or if you have a burn lavender water really helps. This is one in my opinion is so very pure and works fantastically on your skin. 

The best way to use this is to spray it on your face directly, good thing is it comes in a spray bottle so that's very convenient. After removing your makeup take it on a cotton pad and wipe your face with it. I highly recommend it for my lovely people.

5. PIXI GLOW TONIC:

Its a exfoliating toner for you guys. This is a 5% glycolic acid toner and is definitely not to be used on every singly day basis. In fact you should only use this twice a week at least for my skin it does not work for more than twice a week. I break out if I use more than that and hence its a very good and a very economical product. 

It comes in a very good quantity and works wonderfully well but this is a potent product. In my opinion maximum three times a week, use it at night because its a glycolic acid product and have to be sure what you use on top of it. I highly recommend going in with an organic aloe-vera gel because that' s the safest, in case you used too much of this. It is also going to take care of any sort of inflammation on your face.

The best way to use this is pretty simple, you take it on a cotton swab and just wipe your face with that and then leave it on. Now, you don't have to mix this with a lot of other serums. The night that you're using this make sure to keep it simple. It you have very sensitive skin I will not recommend this one to your. Otherwise it a great product.

6. VILVAH TEA TREE TONER:

This is something excellent for acne-prone, sensitive skin. A very good toner and it really keeps the acne in check. These days during monsoon I tend to break out but this one is coming very handy. It comes in a spray bottle, so you can just spray it all over your face or you can take it on a cotton pad and wipe your face with it. Both ways work very well and this toner in particular like I said is going to work because this tea tree in it.

If you have acne, active acne or acne prone skin it just works perfectly.

7. PURE BY PRIYANKA GREEN TEA TONER:

This is a toner that works really well on combination, oily and acne-prone skin. Also works perfectly on open pores, whiteheads and blackheads because this has 2% salicylic acid in it. Since this has salicylic acid, you got to be careful with the bottle, you cannot spray it with your eyes open or even very close to your face. Ideal way to use is to just take a little bit between your palms and pat it onto your face or use it on a cotton pad.

Highly recommend this toner in particular if you have acne, acne-prone skin or open pores and a lot of whiteheads and blackheads.

8. GOOD VIBES POMEGRANATE TONER:

Whether you are dry, combination, oily, acne-prone, sensitive skin type you are likely to like this product. I also use this as face mist on top of my makeup to add that beautiful glow. This is such a wonderful product, very versatile and you can use this in many ways. You can take it in your palms and pat it on your skin, you can spray directly on your face and you could even take this on a cotton pad and wipe your face with it. 

It is very hydrating as well and people with combination skin will also love this product and if you are dry skin you're likely to like this product quite a lot as well.

Moving on to the last two products and both of this products are very versatile and hence work on any and every skin type. They are very mild on the skin and hydrates your skin whether you're dry skin, sensitive, oily or combination. You're likely to appreciate this product a lot more and specifically if you are someone who gets rashes on face very easily. I highly recommend trying either of these two mentioned below.

9. KAMA AYURVEDA ROSE-WATER:

Once started using, you can't get enough of this product. It is one of the best rose water out there. I have this bottle all the time in my bag and especially in monsoon you need something that's hydrating and calming at the same time. This one does this job really well. 

10. DEVE HERBS SANDALWOOD WATER:

This is a very understated brand. They have some brilliant formulations, its so mild on the skin, anti-inflammatory. If you are someone who has rashes on their face, very sensitive skin or you can't use a toner because it irritates your skin. I highly recommend this one it works flawlessly perfect. Also, if you have a lot of active acne or acne prone skin this is the one which will solve all these problems.

 Hey beautiful people!! I hope you guys doing well. Today I am going to talk about the top ten moisturizers that have tried and tested by me and my family, friends with different skin types for the past couple of months to get the best result of the products.               

Now, I have made a detailed blog about the ten beautiful moisturizers for all skin type and this is the part two of it where I am going to tell you newer and updated option. So, for those of you who haven’t read my previous blog I will mention the link down below you can also go and have a look at that one as well.

The best part of this blog is that there are all new entrance and all the moisturizers that I am going to mention are all super affordable, eight out of ten are under Rs. 500 and only two are of Rs. 730. All these moisturizers are very easily available in India with some incredible option, formulations and not just that I have also kept in mind different skin types conditions whether you're oily, acne prone, sensitive skin condition, dry or combination skin you’re likely to find a very good and affordable moisturizer on this blog.

Most of the moisturizers that we have here are fragrance and also color free. In this blog I am also going to tell you some of the moisturizers that are manufactured by Indian pharma companies and let me clarify you don’t need any sort of prescription, they are very easily available. However, the formulations are incredible because these pharma companies have decades of experience in formulation.

So, without any further ado let’s just dive deep and check the awesome list.

1.   1.  ORYZA MOISTURIZING LOTION:

The first product in the list is Oryza and this is manufactured by Alembic, what a superb formulation and such a versatile product. What I love about it is the consistency the way it gets absorbed in the skin. This is going to work on so many different skin types unless your oily skin because this has plant oils. This  is absolutely meant for someone who has dry, hydrated, flaky skin or if you have a broken skin barrier or if you have a trans epidermal water loss then this is the kind of product that you want to go in for. This doesn't have fragrance and its also color free. It you have sensitive or acne prone skin you can definitely go in for this product. 

I am using this in my morning and in my night time skin routine. It very well hydrates and gets absorbed in my skin. I just love the emollieny in here and some incredible formulations. Now, lets talk more about the ingredients, ceramides is an incredible ingredient to have in your formulations. The space between our skin is filled with cholesterol fatty acid and ceramides. A product like this is going to keep up the hydration and also maintain the skin barrier. Some of the other ingredient in here are humectants like glycerin and hyaluronic acid, emo client skin softeners like cocoa butter, shea butter in two kinds of silicones, plant extract oils, avocado oils, olive oils which is an antioxidant, and squalene.

2. EXCELA MOISTURIZER:

This is from the pharma company Cipla. This product is for oily, acne prone skin and this is aimed at reducing sebum production on the skin. If you are someone who is looking for brightening effect as well and to control sebum on your skin, this is the product to go in for. Its very impressive that the niacinamide ingredient which is a brightening ingredient is pretty much on top of the list. Its actually the second ingredient and I haven't seen a moisturizer that has niacinamide on that much on top of the list its usually much lower. So. if your looking for a good moisturizer that has brightening effects as well then this is the one to go for. 

Coming to the packaging which I really wanted to mention this is airless packaging, for all of you who don't know what airless packaging is, it means that the ingredients don't come in contact with air and hence the product has lot more longevity and its not going to get spoiled or come in contact with any sort  of bacteria and you can use the product for longer period of time. 

While we talk about the ingredient list, this formula has particularly matt ingredients formula which is trademark name for group of ingredients sold as a formula by French ingredient manufacturer Sederma and this controls shine on the skin. This particular moisturizer will also shrink pores, it has couple of other ingredients like Zinc PCA which is a great anti-acne ingredient and also controls sebum, sepitonic ingredient formula which is a cocktail of mineral ingredients specifically magnesium, zinc and copper. Great formula great consistency highly recommended if you have oily or acne prone skin type.

Skin feel: Lightweight

Texture: Creamy

When to use: PM (night)

3. RE'EQUIL CEREMIDE & HYALURONIC ACID MOISTURIZER:

I have been curious about this brand since the time I used their sunscreen and quite like the sunscreen this particular formula has impressed me even more then that. Firstly this is the kind of product that if you are dry skin, dehydrated skin or flaky skin you would absolutely enjoy using simply because of the ingredient in here. It has emollients and skin softeners. If you have a broken skin barrier or trans epidermal water loss this is the kind of product that you would really appreciate. The texture of this is really nice spreads out very easily, Especially if you are dry skin you can use this in your AM and PM routine it will also spread out very nicely.

It doesn't get oily in the skin gets absorbed in the skin really well. The only downside I would say about this product is that this has fragrance in it and no color absolutely but if your sensitive skin condition you may have to patch test this and if you have a different take on fragrance then that's a call that you have to take. Also, works very well under makeup. A lot of people who are dry skin type find it hard to find a moisturizer that keeps their skin hydrated while the duration they are wearing makeup. This is the kind of product that can be helpful for you, it keeps the skin nice and supple and I would say this is a product that you can use in winters as well as summers for AM & PM routine.

This product can be used by combination skin as well but only if your acne prone and oily skin then stay away because this has some plant oils. Some hero ingredients of this product are hydrators like propanediol and hyaluronic acid. A star ingredient over here is Saccharide Isomerate natural moisturizer  that basically increases the skin hydration reservoir, we also have emollient and skin softeners like mango butter rich in vitamin E of course, squalene and borage oil, borage oil is the richest source of  gamma linoleic acid and not just that it is anti aging it basically prevents wrinkles and firms up the skin really well, we also have jojoba oil which basically is very similar to to skin natural oils, dimethicone, skin replenisher ceramide 3, ceramide NP, allantoin propanediol and panthenol. Panthenol is calming and soothing for the skin. You also have anti-inflammatory product in this particular moisturizer something that I enjoy using and definitely recommend.

4. PHYSIOGEL CALMING AND RELIEF RESTORING LIPID BALM:

Going ahead with this one it has great humectants and hydrators, this is the product for dry skin, flaky skin. Like the name suggest its for itchy skin and for redness, it is a calming and sort of a soothing kind of cream . Even though this is for dry skin and its a thick cream but it gets absorbed in the skin very easily. Its deeply moisturizing and soothing for dry skin. I am dry skin myself and it has done wonders on my skin. I would say you can use this in your AM and PM routine. It does not have any color and fragrance so if you have sensitive skin condition so you can definitely try this one.

The hero ingredients over here are some nice humectants and hydrators like glycerin, it has pentylene glycol which is very similar to butylene glycol it improves the skin's feel and basically it makes preservative a lot more better, betaine which controls the skin's water balance and this has skin softeners like olive oil which is a great antioxidant and squalene in it.

Who is it for: Dry/Itchy skin

Skin Feel: Deeply Nourishing

Texture: Thick

5. HYALUGEL HYALURONIC ACID GEL:

This product is very simple formulation. As the name suggest this is a gel more then a moisturizer, so it can be used by any and every skin type. It has no fragrance and color in it, can be used by sensitive skin condition and is a very good product for acne prone skin. It does the job of hydrating your skin really well because it has two great humectants and hydration, it has hyaluronic acid of course no prices for guessing but it also has glycerin in it. The only thing I would have liked the brand to do is mentioned the percentage of hyaluronic acid in it. I really like the consistency of this, its really lightweight, more on the watery side, spreads out really well and even price wise I fell like its very pocket friendly for the quality you get here.

The good thing is it spreads out really well and a little bit goes a long way, meant for all skin types and I feel this is the kind of product that one can include in both your morning and night time routine.

6. AVEENO SKIN RELIEF LOTION: 

This moisturizer over here is excellent for dry skin, a lot of different skin types can also use this simply because of the consistency and the formula in here. The main hero ingredient here is colloidal oatmeal. This in fact has three different types of oats, it has oat cornell flour oil and dimethicone which are the best form of occlusive available to us and ceravi which is one of the best formulation out there, also petrolatum and dimethicone in their formulation. You will love the consistency of this as it has shea butter in it and besides the fact it spreads out really well in your skin and it is non-oily and non-greasy on the skin hydrated and a fairly demi-matt formulation I would say. A product that I feel is going to work very well on combination and dry skin, if you are oily skin but not very oily you can definitely give this one a go. The other thing that I absolutely enjoying about the product is that it is a gentle preservative, color and fragrance free that is why it is also recommended for someone who has sensitive skin condition. Also, if you have dry skin and suffer from sensitivity on you skin then this is the kind of product you can definitely invest in.

7. SEBAMED CLEAR FACE CARE GEL:

This moisturizer is meant for acne prone and oily skin. A super formulation from Sebamed ,the reason why I like Sebamed product is because their products are formulated at a pH which is optimum for human skin. So, human skin has a pH between 4.7 and 5.7 and Sebamed products are formulated stabilized at a pH of 5.5. This is the kind of product which is extremely lightweight for acne prone skin and oily skin as it hydrates the skin well. It does not have any color and fragrance which is a good thing about it.

It has pretty similar consistency as we discussed in Hyalugel Hyaluronic Acid Gel. This moisturizer is also excellent for people with oily acne prone skin and you have something that will leave your skin hydrated for a long period of time. Ingredients that are there in this product are aloe juice and glycerin, hyaluronic acid as well, sorbitol, then we have two great ingredient that is allantoin and panthenol both are soothing for the skin. 

The great thing about this particular product is that it is formulated without any oils and hence its going to suit a lot of different skin types. So, whatever skin type you have you can actually use this product but specifically meant for acne prone and oily skin.

8. SEBAMED MOISTURIZING CREAM:

This formulation can also be used for lot of skin type, the texture is absolutely non-sticky and non-greasy type formula. Its works really well underneath makeup. This has 2.3% vitamin E in it which is very rare in a lot of formulations, in fact whatever formulation I have seen till now as per my knowledge the vitamin E quality in a lot of moisturizers and skin care products is usually around 1%. This is also great antioxidant agent and not just that this is a kind of product that will counteract free radical oxidants on the skin. 

A  great product that I feel one can include in their skin care routine unless your extremely oily skin then give it a miss otherwise all different skin type people can use this. Some of the ingredients are petrolatum dimethicone glycerin and one of the best skin replenishing agents which is sodium PCA. Again I feel a product which I see myself using for a long time even in winters for that matter, just love it and absolutely recommend it.

For me particularly my skin kept changing quiet a lot for some past couple of months, sometimes its dry, sometimes the t-zone gets very oily. I also started getting a couple of bumps on my forehead. I felt this cream really took care of everything that was happening on my face, the dryness, the fact that the skin around my nose was getting a little bit chipped and flaky, its a product that I feel really helps and vitamin E is one of my favorite ingredients in skin care. Anyway that is why I think I love this product so much and personally for me it worked really well.

My last two picks for the moisturizers would be from the brand Earth Rhythm. Firstly, this Indian brand has really impressed me with their intelligent formulation. I love when science is combined very well in skin care ingredients because then you come up with exceptional products. Two of their products that really caught my attention are mentioned below.

9. EARTH RHYTHM PHYTO CERAMIDE DEEP MOISTURIZER:

I have personally tested it and this is the kind of product which like I said before very intelligent formulation, this is going to work very well on all skin type but is definitely meant for someone who has dry, flaky and compromised skin barrier sort of a skin. If you have trans epidermal water loss this is a product that can really help you "rejuvenate" your skin that's the right word,

Now, this has six ceramides in it usually three ceramides are more than enough in a formulation but definitely not complaining. Great formula here, its lightweight, gets absorbed in the skin easily that's why I feel its going to work on many different skin type and has no color no fragrance very gentle formulation. I would say its not just gentle but its extremely intelligent coming from an Indian brand. I feel really proud writing about this product. 

The hero ingredients of this products has humectants, butylene glycol and we have two type of hyaluronic acid both of different molecular weight, we have sodium hyaluronate and sodium hyaluronate cross polymer both of these in this formulation which is what I love. We have another humectant propanediol, additional extracts which is aloe juice which is calming soothing for the skin, rice bran extract which is anti-inflammatory great moisturization and softening on the skin, another antioxidant which we have is tocopherol which is a form of vitamin E. 

Its a great product in my opinion and beautifully formulated one or two pump go a long way if your dry skin. Go in with two pumps don't be shy, it spreads out really well and hydrates your skin for longer period of time. I have used this under makeup as well, it keeps up the hydration of the skin. A product that definitely gets a go from me.

10. EARTH RHYTHM PHYTO FUSE MULTI-VITAMIN MOISTURIZER:

This product mainly aims at brightening because it has niacinamide in it and also claims to be anti aging. The fact that it claims both, I would recommend to use this at night and make sure that you patch test this product. The consistency of this is pretty much similar to the ceramide moisturizer. I would say all skin type can use this but if your oily and acne prone then your likely to appreciate this product. Also, if your aiming to buy something which has brightening effects in it, this is the kind of product you can definitely go in for.

Now, moving on to the hero ingredients it has are non-silicon emollients, I love silicon but if you are someone who wants to stay away from silicon this has two of the eco cert approved once, this has coconut alkanes and cocoa caprylate both of these are vegetable based and go by the name of vegelite, vitamin B3 which is niacinamide for brightening effects, propanediol, hyaluronic acid and tocopherol in here. The unique thing about this product is that it claims to have anti-aging properties, it has an ingredient called revenage which is manufactured by a Brazilian cosmetics manufacturer called Chemyunion. It has four such extracts like bidens pilosa, palm oil, cotton seeds oil and unseed oil. 

I have no doubts that all these extracts must have some anti-aging benefits to it but I would definitely suggest that take this with a pinch of salt because the retinol is a very deep subject and definitely suffice to say its one of the most researched ingredient in the world.

What moisturizers does to our skin?

Everyday use of moisturizers mainly reduces the chances of developing extreme oiliness and dryness of our skin. Our skin is the bodies largest organ and it requires regular attention to stay blemish-free, healthy and young. But most of the people and especially women after certain age don’t pay much attention to this which can cause skin dryness, wrinkles, acne, you will lose a layer of protection of your skin and many more. Infact, without applying moisturizers your makeup will not look flawless.

What moisturizers to use?

Dermatologist suggest that, we should use a light moisturizer for the day time and a heavy one for the night time before going to bed. This will do wonders to your skin.

For buying moisturizer, the first thing we have to do is to know what exact our skin type is whether it is dry, oily, normal/combination or sensitive type.

How to know about our skin type?

Every person’s skin is different and unique in its own way but there are some simple techniques that will help you to identify your skin type for better treatment of it.

1.       The bare-face method:

Clear your face properly with a mild suitable face wash or a cleanser and very gently pat it dry. Leave it as it is without apply anything on your face for good 30 minutes, after that examine your nose, checks forehead and chin for any shine throughout then you likely to have an oily skin type. If your skin feels tight and is scaly or flaky then you likely to have a dry skin type. If the shine is only on the T-zone area of your face then you have a combination skin type, and if your skin feels comfortable and hydrated not oily or dry then you have a normal skin type.

2.       Blotting sheets:

This method is much easier and faster then the previous one and it is also used by most of the people. This is an excellent differentiator between dry and oily skin type. Very gently pat the blotting paper on the different area of your face. Hold the sheet up to the light to determine how much oil is visible. If the sheet picked up mostly to no oil, then you have a dry skin type. If the blotting sheet revels oil from your nose and forehead area then you have a normal/combination skin type. Finally, if the blotting paper is saturated with oil, it is understood that you have an oily skin type.

How to find the right facial moisturizers for your skin?

The basic thumb rule is that to choose a moisturizer based on your skin type. Take the above skin type test and start using the one according to your skin type.  Apart from that a regular use of moisturizer should be a part of your daily routine. Always choose a moisturizer with plenty of vitamins like vitamin-A and B5 increase firmness and build moisture levels. Anti-oxidant vitamin C and E fights skin damage and helps protect new skin. PABA-free SPF sunscreens helps prevent premature lines and wrinkles and protect your skin during the day. Also always use a moisturizer which is oil-free, won’t clog pores, allergy and dermatology tested.

A popular drugstore moisturizer and it is rightly so because its flawless, light on skin and so perfect if you have oily or combination skin and this is also recommended for people with acne prone skin. It is best for combination skin. The texture of this moisturizer is very pleasing. It is a blueish colored moisturizer and gets absorbed in the skin very quickly. This moisturizer comes with hyaluronic acid, vitamin E. You can try this under makeup and at night as a night cream. This is perfect and needless to say this is such an affordable moisturizer and it worth every single penny.

This is basically an orange gel which can be used as a moisturizer as well. This also works perfect for your skin and under your makeup. If you want to apply it before makeup, just put two drops of vitamin E in it personally suggested and you are good to go. It is a very clear gel and smells very orangish. So, if your someone who does not like fruity fragrance then do not pick this one up because this is very strong smelling, if you can get past the smell then that’s fine. This is a beautiful moisturizer for anyone with an oily skin or combination skin since this is a gel. It absorbs in your skin in a matter of seconds and it perfectly well for sensitive skin type.
