Hi my beauties welcome back to my blog I hope you guys are
having a fantastic Friday.
I am going to be addressing a very common skin concern that
is Hyper Pigmentation. A lot of you who suffer from hyperpigmentation have
reached out for skin products that you can use, something that you can include
in your skincare routine.
All the products that you're going to see in this blog have been
tested for many months by a lot of different people in my family and also in my
friends because hyperpigmentation is a very common skin concern specifically
for brown and olive skin and I do have some great product recommendations for
you guys in this blog so, sit tight and now without further ado let's dive
right into this blog.
First let's understand what is hyperpigmentation? It's a
skin condition where in certain portions of your skin starts to produce more
melanin than the rest of the skin and hence you see them as light spots and you
see discoloration on your skin.
The reason for hyperpigmentation can be several it could be
hormonal changes during pregnancy reaction to a medication but the most common
reason common cause is too much exposure to sun. That's why I keep stressing on
wearing sunscreen every single morning whether you're indoors or outdoors.
Now let's dive in and see what are the product recommendations
that I have for you guys that you can use and include in your skincare routine
to treat hyperpigmentation.
The first skincare product that comes to my mind when you talk
about hyperpigmentation is a good Vitamin C serum. The reason why I recommend
a good vitamin C serum is firstly it's very versatile, it is beginner friendly,
it is very lightweight on the skin, it's a great active because it's an
antioxidant, it is a collagen booster also evens out your skin tone hence it
works very well on hyperpigmentation and also works on age spots, your acne scars,
it brightens your skin and also gives you that soft glow.
SUGANDA VCIP SERUM
I have two recommendations here for you that I totally love,
the First one is something that I’ve been using since a month now and I am
absolutely loving this formulation. It's a new launch from Suganda it is their VCIP
serum.
It's a very simple formulation with only nine ingredients. This
vitamin C has a very stable all-soluble form of vitamin C which is ascorbyl
tetraisopalmitate and this also has colorless carotenoids which basically firms
up the skin also boost collagen.
Some of the other ingredients that this product has is the
jojoba seed oil and squalane which feels beautiful on the skin, it really
moisturizes the skin very well and we also have tocopherol which is a great
antioxidant and one particular thing that I really like about this particular
vitamin C is its non-sticky, non-tacky doesn't sit on top of your skin, your
skin will absorb it very quickly.
I like using this at night because this has squalane and also
has jojoba oil in it and then I just apply a good moisturizer and just sleep
off. Overall, I feel this is a great product and if used consistently this can
work really well on hyperpigmentation.
KLAIRS VITAMIN C SERUM
My second recommendation for a vitamin C serum and no
surprises here is the Klairs Vitamin C Serum. This in my opinion is a
beautifully formulated vitamin C serum which I recommended many times on my
platform. This definitely is a product which is on the higher end of things but
I feel it's worth every single penny.
In this product you have five percent ascorbic acid here,
it's a fairly stable form of vitamin C, it's a non-tacky, non-greasy formula. This
particular vitamin C is something that I love using in the day so, usually I am
someone who likes to use vitamin C in the day but the Suganda one I like to use
at night.
So, if I want to use a vitamin C during the day time, I
would love to go in with this but one thing you have to make sure with this
with any vitamin C for that matter is that you're definitely going in with
sunscreen. Infact using sunscreen is the first step of getting rid of hype
pigmentation if you are a teenager and you're reading this make sure you're
wearing sunscreen from the get go because that way you will save yourself from
a lot of skin care trouble.
This one is a great vitamin C product as well and I highly recommend.
Another one I can recommend to you which
is something that I shared with you guys recently in a recent blog is the Plum
Vitamin C. It's a fairly affordable product but I feel that my top two are
the Klairs one and the Suganda one. If you're looking for affordable one you
can definitely go for the Plum Vitamin C as well.
Now if you are someone who has hyperpigmentation, you have
enlarged pores and you have that texture on your skin I would say that go in
with a good niacinamide serum. Again, Suganda is a brand that stands out for me
especially when it comes to facial serums because I feel they are extremely
beautifully formulated. The ingredients here are limited but the formulation
itself is done very intelligently.
SUGANDA 5% NIACINAMIDE SERUM
Another product from them is their balancing serum which is
the five percent niacinamide serum. This comes with centralization. It has panthenol
and hyaluronic acid, great product in my opinion. I have used that 10% niacinamide
and I finished an entire bottle. I feel the five percent niacinamide is a tad
bit better if you're a combination skin or dry skin. I would say if you are
oily skin, you can definitely try the 10% niacinamide from them.
I feel it's a very lightweight sort of a serum which you can
include in your morning and night skincare routine. I personally like using this
in my night skincare routine like I said it's extremely lightweight and it works
really well on the skin. It will refine your pores; it will work on the texture
of your skin and in the long run if used consistently it can definitely work on
light hyperpigmentation and age spots as well. Niacinamide of course is known
for brightening your skin and for evening out your skin tone as well.
EARTH RHYTM NIACINAMIDE SERUM
The other product that I have which is also a niacinamide serum
which did stand out for me is from Earth Rhythm this is the ten percent niacinamide
which is the ceramide complex and hyaluronic acid. Great product and formulated
beautifully.
Now both of these products are very lightweight. They are
not very watery but they have that sort of a light consistency which gets
absorbed in the skin well, it will not be tacky on your skin and it will not
leave, it'll basically not sit on top of your skin.
A lot of serums especially niacinamide and vitamin C serums tend
to sit on top of your skin which gives that sort of a tackiness especially in
this monsoon season so, I don't like to use anything that's tacky, anything
that's getting absorbed in the skin easily. It's much easier to use during the
day.
Now the Suganda serum has point five percent hyaluronic acid
and one percent panthenol. It's a very lightweight serum. I like using this a
little bit more than the Earth Rhythm one because of the consistency and also, I
feel it showed a little bit better result. But I would say that the earth
rhythm one is a great product as well so you can take your pick.
If you're someone who's a pro at chemical exfoliation I’d
like to recommend to you a few AHA and BHA products.
First let's talk about BHA because it's a little bit milder
than an AHA.
What is a BHA? It's a
beta Hydroxy acid and the most popular form of it is two percent salicylic acid.
SUGANDA BHA SERUM
The serum that I have here from Suganda is something which I’ve
used is a great product, great formulation, works really well on the skin. This
comes with centralization green tea; it's not heavily exfoliating on the skin.
It is formulated very intelligently, sits very well on the skin.
I would say if you're using any sort of chemical exfoliation
especially BHA and AHA please include it in your nighttime skincare routine
because in the daytime if you come in contact with the sunlight and you're not
wearing sufficient sunscreen it can probably sensitize your skin and it can
give you sensitivity on your skin. Great product in my opinion and definitely
highly recommend.
Then moving on I'd like to recommend to you to AHA based
serums which is alpha hydroxy acid.
PIXI GLOW TONIC
The first one is a toner it is the Pixi Glow Tonic. I’ve
talked about this product at a lot more length, it's a five percent glycolic
acid toner, it's a potent product so please use it very carefully. Don't go
more than two to three times that too if you're a pro at chemical exfoliation,
if you're a beginner I’d say don't go for that product try a BHA first when
your skin gets used to chemical exfoliation then go in with an AHA specifically,
the glow tonic in my opinion.
I almost jump out of my seat when I see a lot of bloggers especially
on Instagram using that product almost every day. It's a potent product
especially glycolic acid if you are a beginner and you're looking for a good AHA
I would highly recommend the Suganda 5% Lactic Acid Serum. This comes
with hyaluronic acid and also central asiatica very lightweight on this skin
and it works very well on hyperpigmentation. If you're dry skin you can
definitely try this because I see a lot of dry skin people, they get flakiness
when they use chemical exfoliation on their skin. This one I would say is
formulated really well so either you can go in for the Pixie Glow Tonic which
is AHA with glycolic acid or you can go in with Suganda 5% Lactic Acid Serum. I
would say this is a little bit milder than the glycolic acid and.
If you're a beginner to chemical exfoliation I would highly recommend
stick to a BHA. Get your skin used to a good BHA first and then move on to AHA.
Moving on I have two face washes here for you which are exfoliating
face washes. Now I feel that these face washes are very mild. If you are
someone who has very light hyperpigmentation or if you have hyperpigmentation
but you want to include a BHA you can alongside use some sort of an exfoliating
face wash both of these right here in my opinion work very gently so, I feel
that since any sort of a wash off product especially your face washes only on
your face for about 60 seconds it doesn't exfoliate much.
So, if you don't need a lot of exfoliations and if you feel
that exfoliation gives you sensitivity on your skin then you can definitely try
these.
TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL EGG-ZYME WHIPPED FOAM
The first one is the Too Cool For School Egg-zyme Whipped Foam. Great product in my opinion, this will last you
almost forever. I’ve used this so much and I’ve not even gone through half the
tube because a little bit goes a long way. Its great product and highly recommend.
COSRX LOW PH GOOD MORNING GEL CLEANSER
Then I have the COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser. This
comes with salicylic acid, betaine salicylate. Great product in my opinion again,
if you're looking for a good gentle exfoliation you can use this but do
remember if you're using a face wash which is exfoliating don't use it every
day. Use it only alternate days.
EARTH RHYTHM GOTU KOLA WHITE TURMERIC CLEANSING BUFF
My last product recommendation for you guys is a cleansing
buff from Earth Rhythm. This is the Gotu Kola White Turmeric Cleansing Buff
very great product in my mind. It's a very gentle exfoliator, you can use it as
a mask and also scrub it off like I said it's a gentle exfoliation on your skin.
The first ingredient in this product is potato starch which
has natural skin bleaching enzyme which is supported by white turmeric which is
not just anti-inflammatory it's an antiseptic as well so overall, this product
will give you not just brightness on your skin it's going to treat dark spots
and if you have light hyperpigmentation it can definitely work on that as well.
With that it's a wrap guys I really hope that you enjoyed
reading this blog and this blog was helpful enough for you to pick up at least
a few products that can work on your hyperpigmentation.
